Walk With a Doc Lake Norman will feature Dr. Naomi Simon on Saturday, October 16, 2021, from 9-10 am at the Davidson Town Green. The event is open to everyone who would like to take a walk around town and ask Dr. Simon questions about skin cancer and other topics related to skin conditions. A board certified dermatologist, Dr. Simon is committed to sharing information with her patients and the community regarding the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of skin cancer.
Since just 2017, Mooresville Dermatology Center has diagnosed and treated over 8000 skin cancers in Lake Norman. Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States, and the American Cancer Society predicts that 1 in 5 Americans will be diagnosed with skin cancer over their lifetime. More than 9500 people are diagnosed with skin cancer every day in the US, including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma, and Merkel cell carcinoma. Nearly 20 Americans die from melanoma every day. The good news is when caught early, most skin cancer is highly treatable!
Dr. Simon will talk about how to protect yourself through ALL seasons, practice “safe sun,” check your skin regularly and establish a relationship with your dermatologist. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to ask questions – and please don’t forget your sunscreen!
